Mixed Naturist Beach Day - Southside Beach (near Bells) including bushwalk and dinner

Sat, 9 Jan 2021
10:30 - 16:00

Enjoy a day with some naturist friends on one of Victoria’s most beautiful surf beaches.

GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Medium, approximately 0.5 km walk from the car park to our spot on the beach. There are quite a few steps from the road down to the beach which are quite steep, but you can always take your time. The hike is graded as Easy.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:
This event is for naturists. Enjoy a pleasant nude beach day, with a leisurely lunch and swim. Optional activities include, body surfing in a moderate surf and a beach walk to one of the rocky headlands nearby. If the tide is out we can walk around the headland to the next beach (Addiscot Beach). The sandstone cliffs along the beach are quite spectacular.

An optional late afternoon /early evening clifftop hike through the ironbark basin will take place after the official beach day finishes. You do not need to make a separate booking to come along, you can decide at the end of the beach day if you wish to join us for the hike.

At the conclusion of the walk, all participants are invited to an optional dinner (approximately 7pm) at the local Chinese Restaurant in Torquay to end a most enjoyable day out.

Day Runsheet:

  • 10:30am - Start of beach day/swim at Southside Beach
  • 4:00pm/4:30pm Approx- Start of the IronBark Basin Hike (Optional)
  • 7:00pm - Head to the local Chinese restaurant in Torquay for Dinner. (Optional)
  • 8:30pm Approx - Leave Torquay bound for Melbourne

Early Evening Hike (clothed or optional nude):

  • Jarosite Mine and Dam Hike (3 km round trip)
  • This walk is part of the Surf Coast Walk and curves inland through ironbark forest as you work your way through some wonderful grasstree and stringybark forest. After a short look at the Jarosite Mine Dam we reach the site of the old abandoned Jarosite Mine. The mine workings once covered an area of 100ha before it closed in 1927. Bird life is usually rich and varied with honeyeaters, robins, fantails and wattlebirds being the most common in the area. Clifftop views are also given. We will also take a nude hike detour to a special location for cliff face views and optional photo shoots.

BOOKING: By Thursday 7th January. To register, click on Get Tickets.

MEETING TIME | LOCATION: 10:30am at the carpark located at SouthSide beach (Marked Bells Beach Car Park) on Google/Apple Maps. Note there are 2 Bells Beach Car Parks, park at the second closer to Anglesea.

  • Beach Parking: We plan to park at the Southside car park (located off Bells Beach Road), The car park is quite small and by the time we arrive it will probably be full. In that case you may need to park at the second Bells Beach car park and walk an extra 15 minutes along the walking track to reach the second car park. We will then wait for everybody at the top of the stairs to walk down to the beach together.
