Come and visit grasslands in Royal Park that were planted by the City of Melbourne in 2021 (between lockdowns)!

GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Grade 2: Easy 9 km circuit walk.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: After viewing the grasslands, we will enjoy a picnic dinner (BYO food - NO BBQ) in the established native garden of Royal Park. After dinner, onwards through the University of Melbourne grounds in search of gelato in Lygon St! Returning on a slightly different route through the uni and Royal Park. Note: if the forecast for the day is 35c or above as at Monday 13 January, the event will be cancelled.

MEETING TIME | LOCATION: 5.30pm at Ross Straw Field car park, Oak St, Parkville. Free parking.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The walk is accessible by tram – take the #57 or #59 tram to the Boundary Road/Flemington Road stop, then walk ten minutes to Ross Straw Field carpark.

FOOD: Carry dinner and a litre of water.

APPAREL | FOOTWEAR: Comfortable walking shoes and dress according to the weather forecast.
